Design and Develop an Android Based Mobile Application for Omani Guide

Abstract

The tourism sector is one of the most important elements in the economic field because of what Oman is distinguished from the various tourism components, which will impact positively the rank of the Sultanate of Oman as a preferred destination to discover the field of the national and heritage and to get a unique experience. Therefore, Oman Vision 2040 underlined the importance of this sector and its development, making it one of the most significant sources of national income. Thus, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism focused on improving the systems for planning, developing, attracting any investments, and keeping pace with programs and plans with Oman Vision 2040, also among the objectives of the Ministry is the digital transformation to keep pace with developments in the technical fields, so the ministry's focus on the technical side will enable the development of several contexts for access to services, including the creation of a mobile application to help the access of tourists to various services. So, this research paper focuses on creating a tourism mobile application that is Affiliated with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism to extend its contribution to the tourism sector, so this study is based on qualitative data, which are press articles and case studies. Therefore, priority data was collected via the electronic questionnaire method, as it was distributed among 41 individuals of different ages and specializations.
